For what it is worth, I believe the Speech SDK is from IBM, not
Microsoft. In fact, I am not even sure if it is compatible with
anything but OS/2. As to the Microsoft Developer Network CD's, you can
sometimes find the lowest level in software stores for about $100. (I
got mine at Barnes & Noble.) The ones that provide the full SDKs seem to
be by subscription, and, unfortunately, are relatively pricey, though
you do get a full year's subscription. Of course, if you really need
it, it is a bargain. If you don't....well, a lot of the stuff can be
found elsewhere.
