trying to identify a virus by symptoms is a waste of time 99% of the
time... if you feel you have a virus and are not satisfied with the
detection your present scanner is giving you, try a different one...
i'd suggest f-prot, avp, or findvirus...
(on a side note, wiping files in the root causes big problems with
computer operation - most virus writers know well enough to avoid
causing big problems with the computers operation since it would give
away the presence of the virus)
