Well there are always unintended consequences. Still, the amount
of adaptor plates, brackets, etc. that are in the antique and hot
rod market are almost astronomic.
To begin with, both the Jeep and International scout used the same
drive train. you can get new body tubs for both, fenders, lights,
bumpers, glass, wiring harness, dash gauge/speedo, doors, knobs,
seats, floor mats, the whole nine yards.
The transmission, transfer case, rear & front differentials are
alike for both, commonly available in junk yards cheap because
they never wear out.;) IMHO the standard engines suck... lots
of gas. But I have seen adaptor plates to install modern 4 cyl
mills on these transmissions; presumably the kit comes with the
motor mounts.
You have some chance also cause these things are so *simple*. I
could draw the whole wiring diagram on a sheet of typing paper
in 20 minutes.
