Brail, dummy.

Was it Paul who said something to the effect of..." Buying a USR

to do 33600 connects and 3900+ Cps, is not worth the $200 over

the top of buying a Netcomm 28800..... It would take years to pay off

Well I have just done some tests with two indentical Couriers linked

together with a 2 metre cable (transferring at 33600 then 28800)

File 300teru.zip 1432681 bytes

33600\33600 connect 3883cps time 6 min 10 sec

28800\28800 connect 3329cps time 7 min 15 sec

You save one full minute on a 1.4meg file.

And if you are doing this on anything but a local call, then

these minutes add up (specially at say, $1 per minute)

Saving a dollar a minute is significant to me.

200 minutes and you have bought your courier.

Even at 50c a minute, it is nothing to sneeze at.

Russell
