I have exactly the same thing happening here and found it was the pcmcia
card (I suspect the drivers). It happened a little at first then more and
more often. Finally I found it was locking up my firewall completely.
Removed the drivers and the pcmcia card and went back to 802.11b drivers
and card and no more dropouts so it's likely the card (could be the g
feature of the router but because of the firewall lockups I suspect the
driver)
