Doesn't matter who hears you. As a licensed ham I follow the FCC's laws to
the best of my abilities. Otherwise it *WILL* be like CB and I will be no
better than a "Gud Budee". 
No offense meant to the 1% of CBers who DO follow the rules.  :/
So......back to scanners/scanning.
To All:
I was thinking of putting a discone in the attic for scanning and hamming
on 2M/440. Would it be safe to put it on the floor or must there be nothing
touching the bottom of a discone? IE: High current/voltage points, ect.
