OS/2 Warp 3 comes with Internet connectivity software, yes. *BUT* it is very
difficult to persuade it to use local TCP/IP on a LAN rather than TCP/IP via
SLIP (or PPP) to a service provider. For one thing, if I remember correctly,
MPTS support was not bundled with OS/2 Warp 3 prior to OS/2 Warp 3 Connect.
MPTS (a.k.a. "LAPS") is the layer that actually drives the LAN adapter cards,
and is used by both the "LAN" flavour of TCP/IP for OS/2 and OS/2 LAN
Requester (and, indeed, Netware Client for OS/2 if you configure it to use
NDIS instead of ODI). If you don't have LAN Requester or some other means of
obtaining MPTS, then you won't be able to persuade the IBM Internet Conection
software on the Bonus Pack to talk TCP/IP over a LAN however hard you try.
