Before I received the SETUP.EXE file from our OEM in France, I had tried using DEBUG and typing in commands that were listed on some DEBUG information website for supposedly low level formatting a hard drive (only first few bytes though, not the whole thing) and resetting the CMOS. I did that. Before, I was able to boot with a 5¼" Floppy. After entering it in, it would start to boot with the 5¼" Floppy, it would say "Starting MS-DOS..." and the FDD LED would be on for a second then would go off...then it would just hang until I reboot. The motherboard consisted of 3 boards: One the actual mainboard that mounted to the case, and the other two mounted to each other to be like 1 card in an ISA slot. The two connected and in the ISA slot is the one that had the memory, BIOS, CMOS, keyboard port (RJ-11 type), Battery, Power LED and speaker connections, and other stuff. Anyway, I removed the CMOS IC (it was in a socketed slot), and then after a few minutes I installed it back, and then was able to boot from floppy again. At that point I was able to run the SETUP.EXE after putting it on the 5¼" Floppy and get everything straight.
