Good work, Saki.  Thanks for digging this bit of information up for
those of us who lack the ability but are nonetheless curious about
when the North American newspapers first mentioned the Beatles.

The Beatles shot to the top and stayed there until they disbanded.  I
can't imagine another band/group duplicating this today.  There are
bound to be "reunion tours" or the band hangs on long after their
prime for whatever reason - be it monetary or ego.  The fact that the
Beatles resisted getting back together only adds to their legendary
story.
