 Yowser & greets Arthur!,

Yes, most left without saying a word...

RVR>> Or did everyone go on strike and not tell me? :)

"we all" as in you Arthur? How's the one-man show there ;-)

AS> I think it's just typical of what's happening on the Amiga scene.
AS> People moving to the PC - lack of news/software/hardware - nothing

Well there's a fair bit of new stuff actually. I thought Kevin (Picone)
might make mention of Steve and Paul's new Amiga game - UropaII. The demo
is about to be released on CU-Amiga's next cover CD.

Quite a good game for a couple of Townsville lads, the demo is also
available ftp from their jcu site. And the full game (4meg of it) is only
$30 - full price. It also includes serial connect "Hovar Wars" so
two people can play against each other. Steve is hoping to expand this to
TCP connects which means you can play across the internet. The game is
fully multi-tasking and hours of fun on irc have been had as people play
and return suggestions to the authors (and stumble across some bugs ;-)

Also, there's PIOS, that "other" PPC Amiga planning company with
Dave Haynie on the staff list. There's a bit of the "proverbial"
floating around between VisCorp/Phase5/PIOS and everybody seems to have a
different view of what's actually happening.

There's also the AGX add-on for Amiga's, which is a cheap RGB 23pin D port
adaptor that allows chunky mode graphics. Software can be written to use
this device (most applicably games like Doom etc) via supplied library's.
True this product is under a NDA a little at the moment due to distribution
contracts (pending), but the device and library's are a step in the
direction of compatability for chunky graphic style games.

I could go on, there's quite a bit of new stuff, things like "Miami" etc :)

AS> BTW - while I have you, Paradise for some reason spits the dummy
AS> when I try to freq a file. Do you think you could please grab
AS> LIONKING.LHA (a klondike carset for the kids) and uuencode it in an
 AS> email to bsawil20{at}scu.edu.au. ;)

You could always ftp it straight from Paradise 203.63.204.17 :)

But I'll grab it for you if you like..

You could ftp it from 203.17.118.51 then as well :) As long as the site
(mine) was online at the time :)

Btw, Barry mentioned something about you - can't remember exactly what it
was, but it was good for a laugh at the time ;-) (g,d,r....)

Cheers, __
