The even (vertical) channels on Spacenet 3 are all half transponders.
Most satellites have one transponder per channel, but the Spacenet
sats are different.  Since the power is shared with 2 signals, there
is only half as much power available for each channel.  Also Spacenet
3 has less power per transponder than the newer sats.  So, each even
channel on Spacenet 3 may have only about a third of the power of a
newer sat in the west.  If you have a narrow filter, try that.  It may
help the sparkles.  Spacenet 3 is due to be replaced in the next
couple of years.  The replacement will probably not have that
problem :)
