-> The room fell silent as Joe Lamastra whispered to Dave Brown...
JL> I can't seem to dig up any manuals on the motor or outdrive
JL> and nobody wants to touch it around here so I guess I'm going to have
JL> to be my own mechanic. Some days the motor runs fine and then for no
JL> reason I can find it breaks up at about half throttle and seems to only
JL> be hitting on two cylnders. I've replaced the
JL> plugs, points, conds. and wires but I'm having trouble finding a cap and
JL> rotor. Also do you know if water is to come out of the exhaust
JL> port in the outdrive or not? I'm pumping water it shoots out two small
JL> holes on either side of the drive.
JL> I would appreacate any help greatly!!!!!!
Manuals should be available from Ken Cook Co in the US -- I donb't have their
address at my fingertips, but can get it for you if you wish. For the most
part, use the parts book at your dealer from the outboard is was McGyverized
from ( a '66 80hp I believe).
Water does exit from these caps and you should get a light spit out the
exhaust hole at the back (at the top). The rest goes out with the exaust at
the bottom of the drive.
