You mean the "repair tech" only approached it from the standpoint
of replacing a whole board?  Heck,  I used to do component-level repair on
all that stuff.  In fact,  in my pile of scrap here I had an Epson printer,
 just did a number on that particular board a while back...

Of course,  tracing it to an individual component gets a whole lot easier
when you have some service data to work with.

Is there much market for repair of this stuff?  I didn't think that anybody
actually still used dot-matrix printers all that much any more.

Still have it?  What are you gonna do with it?
