I think that would be misleading if it were true.

No, I haven't tried it;  I really don't feel like taking any RAM out of my
pc (it is not very accessible).

You must remember that Watcom comes from the DOS world,  where it had to
run in 640k.  IBM Cset++,  on the other hand,  was developed for AIX and
OS/2, where the programmers were,  perhaps,  spoiled by all the space.

I suspect that the new IDE,  Debugger, etc,  require more memory than the
C++ compiler.
