BG> Fucking bullshit. I've already posted that part of the manual which states
BG> this, so I won't be bothering again.
PE> It doesn't. You have only ever been able to post irrelevant stuff.
PE> Your favourite is the &B2 when I am using &B1.
BG> Have a quote then...
BG> -----------------------------------------------------------------------
BG> The following command example substitutes several user-defined defaults
BG> for factory settings. The modem also stores the port rate, word length
BG> and parity it detects from the AT command prefix.
BG> AT X1 &B0 &M5 &H0 M3 &W
The Netcomm also does this, at least with the baud rate.
BG> -----------------------------------------------------------------------
BG> And another....
BG> -------------------------------------------------------------------------
BG> Word length* 8
BG> Parity* 0 None
BG> DTE rate* (Kbps) 19.2 _
BG> * Detected by the modem from the AT prefix of the &W command that
BG> writes your defaults to NVRAM. Set your software to the desired word
BG> length, parity, and serial port rate defaults before sending the modem
BG> the AT . . . &W string.
BG> --------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Netcomm also does this, at least with the baud rate.
BG> If that's not clear enough for you, I give up.
You should have ditched your zealotry a LONG time ago, Bill. Can't
you even see the total lack of logic in all that you are saying?
You're quoting above the normal operating procedure of ALL modern
modems, INCLUDING ones (ie all except USR) that CORRECTLY autobaud
detect. You quote AT&B2 when I am using AT&B1. You then fail to
address the REAL issue, which is WHY the USR fails to autobaud on
ATZ when there are NO comms programs and NO terminals which change
baud rate after issuing ATZ, in expectation of the modem going back
to what it used to be. It's incredibly simple logic, Bill, I really
have no idea how you can live for xx years and not even have simple
logic like that in your brain. Christ, people complain about women
being logical. What an insult to women! BFN. Paul.
