 I meant that I have been through 16 year olds twice.  I guess I did not
 make that real clear.  Sometimes my posts gets as jumbled as my mind does.
 I think faster than I type and I type pretty fast.
 They are 9 years old.  I have a 22 year old daughter who has always had
 trouble in school.  Never diagnosed with ADHD and of course, I didn't
 really know such a thing existed.  It has been about 2 years ago when
 she was diagnosed with Manic Depression and about 7 years when a hospital
 said she had an impulse disorder.  I think she is juch plain old ADD or
 ADHD now that I know much more.
 Jonathon is 12 now and is ADD.  He has bouts of depression which resemble
 manic (ups and downs) but that has never been diagnosed as they felt he
 was going thru adolensence. LD approx. two years behind his age, but
 emotional seems to be fairly close to his age.  
 The Twins are 9.  One girl who is very talkative, a perfectionist and
 very very bright.  And she has this understanding of Einstein.  Drives
 me up the wall sometimes.  The boy Jeremy is ADHD/ODD.  Cannot understand
 the difference in emotions.  Therefore, effects of sad or disappoint are
 all the same smack..................   He was a bedwetter, had night 
errors,
 and hides most emotions.  Mr. Tough Guy!  He has had only 2 episodes of
 going into an emotional state in which he does not remember hitting someone.
 My experience of pregnacy with the twins was quite horrifying.  It was a
 hard pregnancy and they were born early.  Sara tested 9 weeks early although
 I was suppose to be only 6 weeks early.  She was in ICU (flown in a 
helicopter)
 for 3 1/2 weeks.  Jeremy was in the hospital for approx. 1 1/2 weeks with
 a hole in his lung that developed 2 days after birth.  Sara is much bigger
 than Jeremy.  They do not look alike.  Although there are a few symptoms in
 Sara that may resemble ADD I don't believe she is.  I think that this is
 just her personality.  She is impulsive with money and talks alot, but her
 attention span is outstanding.  Her grades reflect and comprehension are
 very strong.  Distraction is fairly normal except when she gets frustrated
 over a challenge.  I think that is normal for a perfectionist, which I am
 one of myself, but has since learned to put in its place.
 The 16 year old was my step-son.  He has LD's but they are not bad.  Mostly
 in Spelling/English  Reading/Comp. I have two other step-sons.  One who is
 about 24.  He was alot like Jeremy my husband says.  He turned out really
 well, but he physically as well as emotionally resembles Jeremy.  I mean
 they look like twins.  My other step-son is about 26.  He is kinda irrespon-
 sible.  I don't know him well as he doesn't contact us much.
 And ADHD runs very rampant on my husbands side. My husband after looking at
 his background (did not complete high school) is much like Jeremy.  He
 use to beat people up every day after school and of course, ended up with
 a criminal record.  This is what we are trying to make sure does not happen
 to Jeremy.
 I on the other hand have never been diagnosed but am probably ADHD.  I am
 43 so you can probably understand why I never was.  I did poorly in school.
 I have most of the symptoms through growing up years. Still have them, but
 can deal with them extremly well.  I have to read outloud many times to
 comprehend what I am reading.  Get distracted at most things.  I was very
 impulsive as a child, but not bad now.  I could not stand being a keypunch
 operator or secretary, but loved retail and being a pest control tech.
 Only because I hate sitting in one place for very long.  I get panic attacks
 and have clostrophobia.
 Whether there is ADHD on my side I do not know and can not find out.
 There you have it.  A synopsis of my family.  Aren't we a cute bunch!!
