I suppose. Although that isn't really an option if you can't connect in
the first place due to a stupid internal pci modem doing nothing but
wasting electricity. ;-)

Or Compaq. Man are those things lame. I've seen some really oddball stuff
happen with those, usually bios related. I stay away from them although I
have gutted a few for parts, mostly ram.

I imagine so. I often run across some very interesting stuff in that neck
of the woods (California) when doing searches for oddball stuff. I have
even been known to liberate some of those 'toys'. Lately I have been
looking for special internal ultra-scsii stuff and more often then not the
hits come up as California based suppliers. One thing for sure, there
aren't very many, if any, likewise thinking suppliers in this neck of the
woods. Most, if not all, are following whatever MS thinks we require
computer-wise, and very little of it is of any real consequence in the
grand scheme of things. El-cheapo crappy kiddie toys for the mostpart
designed to amuse and attract crows and not do anything meaningful. That
is what I see locally. What amazes me is that people around here actually
are amused by that stuff whether or not it is any good for anything.
Unreal. :::shaking my head in total disbelief:::

Life is good,
Maurice
