Even U.S. citizens were abused under the Bush administration when the
authorities felt free to detain Americans without charges.

I was detained in 24/7 lockdown in Pinellas County Jail for 60 days
before having a hearing on a charge of tresspassing.
A $150 bondable charge I was not even informed of until I saw the judge
on day 60 when I was released.

2 X's 2' long cool white flourescent lights left on 24/7 the first 45 -
50
days.
I wasn't allowed even a shower until day 34 ( I counted) and then it was
only after I'd been handcuffed and leg shackled.
Somewhat odd treatment for such a petty offense without damage or even
confrontation don't you think?
No hearing for 60 days???

I Lost everything I had.
Clean apartment, security deposits, $3000 in assorted computer equipment
and programming books.
All tossed away as my rent went delinquent.

I don't get to the l;ibrary very often as I am as was still crippled and
it's two blocks which is still rather difficult for me.
The tresspassing was bogus.
The guy who made the charge lived just up the street one block
and had just stolen my wallet.

I was if you recall at that time, May 07 quite vocally opposed to the
then
administration.
This is the reason I believe I was actually detained under such odd
circumstances.
Odder circumstances than I can even relate here because though done to
me
I find it myself hard to believe.
I will say I was interrogated in a most odd but highly effective
fashion.

Lots of wasted bizarre law enforcement activity that given the large
number of individuals  and time involved must have been extremely costly
to the state and taxpayers.

I now live in a dump with no phone and no computer resources.

Some here on this BBS should be quite happy to hear this.
