  The Turbo compound was a Wright 2 row 18 cylinder engine
 of 3350 cubic inchhes (R-3350).  The compounding was not
 applied to the induction system.. There were 3 turbines
 equally spaced in the exhaust system. Their shafts were
 to the back end of the crankshaft to add extra torque to
 the engine and extra hp output....
