Sailing Echo Rules
The Sailing Echo is dedicated to the passing of information on
all aspects of wind powered conveyances. In other words, if it's
a blow boat, board, or even radio controlled sail powered and 12
inches long, it classifies as fair game for the forum.
Although Power does occasionally come from other means, we
attempt to avoid power only discussions, except where
facilitating the operation of tall sticked craft in a pinch.
Auxiliary power complications, horror stories or where to get
that out of production part for the 1903 Wisconsin one lunger are
encouraged, in order to remind us that the breezes run foul towards
us all now and again.
For sale discussions are authorized but only for a broad based
knowledge of international price comparisons. If it starts to get
specific, like I'll give you $50.00 less if you keep the Loran,
or I'll give you $1,000.00 more if you throw in the cute bowhook,
please take it net mail. We don't want advertisements in the
messages to run us onto the sandbar.
Keep the messages as clean as your boat and try to remember that
your material is being read by a good number of people from all
levels of experience. Rafting up on a user is discouraged,
although we all like a depth charge tossed now and again, as it
makes for some interesting discourse.
Change the subject line frequently, in order to keep the topic
and text flemmished down like the Admirals Barge. We hate it when
the subject is "Spinnakers" and the text is "Anchors." It's like,
"intercoastal waterway markers" and gets as confusing.
Aliases are not allowed. If the system you post from forces you
to use an alias, you must sign the message with your real name.
Never raise a 150% Genny in force 9.
