Hi Fred,
FB> Can I take it that you're referring to a Bronze Wing Pionus?
FB> How old is your Bronze Wing? Dusty, our female Bronze Wing Pionus,
Right. She is almost two...lacking a month, I think.
FB> is 24 months old and I'd like to get a better idea of what to expect
FB> as she passes into maturity. Sweetheart that she is, she has a
FB> melancholy turn of character and I'm concerned over what's in store
FB> for her. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Mika is my first Bronze Wing that I have handfed. Up until now she has been a
sweet heart. But, she has her days. Now, Binky, is another matter. He is a
male Dusky Pionus and a furious as any male Amazon at this time of the year.
He is also 2. I also have a White Cap male and a Blue-headed male. All of the
above need mates.
I am beginning to think that the are just minature Amazons during breeding
season. That means, give them lots of room and wait till the PMS passes. Of
course that could take months.
I am curious how you came to get a Bronze Wing? There aren't many out there
in
the pet trade. I personally think that they are beautiful little birds.
