PE> Define "find them". I've already sent them 15, you don't have to be
PE> Christopher Columbus to "find them".

BG> Half of your purported bugs were either one-offs, or not bugs at all, so
BG> I'm not at all surprised that they ignored you. I would have too.

They were all bugs. And if you want to ignore reported bugs, fine,
just be honest about it, and admit that USR (and you) don't take bug
reports seriously. I expected that. Undoubtedly all of my Spirit
bugs were once-off and not bugs too.

You might notice the vast difference between that an how I treat bug
reports on MSGED/SQ. Even bugs that only one person has. Remember
some guy in Brisbane whenever he went into the area list it kept on
moving automatically (due to a bug in the mouse drivers as it turns
out). Well I went and tracked that down anyway. And if I am either
unable to fix a bug, due to unreproducability, or unwilling to fix a
bug, due to lack of time, I say so up-front. And that's all for a FREE
product. Nevermind the world's most expensive product (or close to it,
anyway).

PE> As for the new SDLs, big whoop, so did the Spirit II. They still refused
PE> to
PE> fix the bugs that counted though.

BG> So piss it off and buy another brand...

And if I had bought a USR, I'd be in exactly the same boat, and if I
were to piss it off and buy another brand, I'd be taking a massive
hit of $675. No thanks, Bill. The number of SDLs is irrelevant.
Their attitude to bug reports is what counts.

BG> That's a totally unfair assumption, and one which has already been proved
BG> wrong to a degree. USR can and HAVE issued bugfix SDLs, while NetComm may
BG> find it a bit more difficult with their hard-coded Rockwell chipset.

PE> They release new flashrom code too.

BG> I've seen no evidence of that.

I'm running 2.61L, the one before that was 2.61C I think. I don't
know what David Begley was running before getting 2.61L, but it was
certainly not 2.61L. Sheesh, just where are you coming from Bill?

BL> Besides, new controller code is useless if
BG> the bugs are in the actual datapump.

Sure. And now, is the MNP10 lockup, the USR connect failures, and
anything else I listed, likely to be due to the chipset? Oh, that's
right, none of the bugs are bugs after all, they're all one-off
non-problems, right? Or does that line only apply to USR?

PE> Because I've NEVER had a Maestro SE 9600 connect to me!

BG> That's hardly USR's fault then, is it?

No, it's Netcomm's, as I'm sure I mentioned in the previous message.
BFN. Paul.
