PE> I don't believe in insurance. I prefer to play
PE> a long-term gamble with the odds in my favour.

BG> Insurance is where they pay you every time your house burns down,

RS> Which isnt exactly something that happens very often, and even if it
RS> did, you can often sue someone else for having caused it in Pauls case.

BG> and you pay them every time it doesn't.

RS> So he is taking little risk not insuring against that.

BG> I was being cynical, but as usual, you missed it.

You have dropped into bullshit mode when caught
out, and as usual no one could possibly miss that.

BG> I used to be uninsured once, until my brother's
BG> best friend's house was destroyed by fire.

RS> Do you avoid driving down to the shops because someone died doing that ?

BG> No, but I do so carefully. Don't you?

I am careful not to do things that will burn the house down too.
And so may well not need to insure the house if I choose not to.

BG> He was uninsured too, and to fully replace his home cost him
BG> $120k, almost destroying him and his family in the process.

RS> Cant see why it should, anymore than
RS> getting the house in the first place did.

BG> Financially, Rod. Could YOU stand a sudden loss of $120k ?

Yes, in the extremely remote possibility of my house burning down,
I can indeed, so it may well be quite viable to not insure my house.
