Were you getting anything better than 128Kbps in quality?
Prior to joining Spotify, I extracted the audio from the YT videos I was
interested in carrying around with me or for producing an mp3/cd for the
car. The audio sound always seemed subpar.

The variety of --options for youtube-dl are absolutely amazing and well
thought out. I can see the convenience of pulling in a playlist based on
date criteria to get get just the videos one has missed, for example.
