RG> When you mentioned they change the law enforcing people to use the
RG> lanes, is that a provincial or federal law??
That was by the Province here...
I'm looking for the info I got last year... computer housekeeping that is
I have three...
Amongst things like a Helmet Law, etc... last winter they wrote in a law
that ensured bicycles have the right to use most roads in BC... but I don't
have the wording... Ontario classes bikes as fully qualified vehicles...
and thus are allowed, EXCEPT for certain clearly specified highways...
ie. Most 400 series superhighways, and certain other limited access super
highways... all others must be approved and written in... and of course
any highway that is closed to all traffic.
Some cities have tried to ban bicycles from roads, but usually they will lose
unless there are REAL reasons for doing so... Most times if the road is that
bad, cyclists don't want to go there... or are better lured away by better
options... that is better, not imagined better by politicians.
