G'day Greg,
GM> Well if your like me ...I have a laptop

GM> So if you hook up the 1541 to the ibm you

Sorry, but you will NOT be able to read IBM disks with a 1541 drive at
ALL..
you can read / write to Commodore disks but with the 1541 you are
stuck with Single Sided format.. This will not hold many MS-DOS files!!
The formats are two far different... A 1571 drive CAN read IBM disks
but it needs sofware as well so I don't see how this could be
implememted with a X1541 cable...
Cheers,
Speedy
