Hi, Patti,
PJ> I spoke to Mike's Mom Sunday, and she said that she has
PJ> not had pain meds since the surgery, and was up in the therapy pool
PJ> the day following her surgery. She said she feels wonderful, and in
PJ> fact was getting ready to go to church when I spoke to her. Gotta'
PJ> run for now kiddo', gotta' head out for work. Just wished springtime
PJ> would hurry up, I'm tired of winter
I'm glad to hear Mike's Mom is doing so well. My Mom was doing much
better when I was up to visit two weeks ago. The swelling in her legs
has gone down a lot since Christmas and she was recovered from the bug
that had had her gasping for breath. Unfortunately, she managed to do a
number on her arm the day before the Super Bowl. She was putting away
some pans and they didn't want to go into the cupboard. She gave a shove
and caught her arm on the door latch--got quite a deep cut and also
skinned her arm quite badly. It was still bleeding two days later when
the home health nurse came for a routine visit. The doctor prescribed
some potent antibiotic salve and the nurses have been changing the
dressing every day. It looks like it's coming along quite well, but I
suspect Mom will have a sore arm for quite a while--it looks like it went
into the muscle.
I wish springtime would hurry up, too. My car decided last week it would
rather be a pile of junk than a functional vehicle--the day before I was
scheduled to go to Detroit for a visit. One of the local dealers is
giving a $3000 trade-in allowance on their used cars through Monday, and
I want to get in there tomorrow. Unfortunately, the weather forecast is
for yet another winter storm. Oh, well, nothing much I can do about the
weather but wish.
Take care,
Robin
