Dear fellow users...
I am currently having a computer problem... whether this is due to a
virus or not, I am uncertain.
I would be greatly appreciative if someone could steer me in the
right direction and hopefully help me out with things....
These are the problems I am encounterring (in short). I have
seperated them into two categories... Old and New... Old represents the
problems I am still encounterring, but I have posted once about them as
well... New represents new problems that I have forgotten to post
previously... They are:
-=- OLD -=-
(1) System freezes now and then, no matter what program is being run.
(2) PKZIP/PKUNZIP report CRC errors and cannot properly zip or unzip
files.
(3) Numerous "Unreliable XMS memory" messages at these locations:
00DC5906h
002C62F6h
00A05476h
00885B56h
(4) From time to time I get "EMM386 unrecoverable error #05" or "EMM386
unrecoverable error #06" within programs (usually Front Door)
(5) Upon booting the system, the CD-Rom driver, instead of saying:
"Oak Technology" it says "Oak Techfology"
(6) Upon booting, sometimes the video driver when being loaded will say
"configuration too large for memory"
(7) Upon doing "CHKDSK", sometimes the system will freeze back at the
prompt without a full prompt
-=- NEW -=-
(1) Sometimes when trying to load a program (like FrontDoor), it'll
cause the computer to REBOOT itself.
(2) From time to time, "EMM386 unrecoverable error #00" (not as often as
the ones stated above)
(3) "Runtime error #201" (I believe it's memtest failure) from time to
time in my Renegade BBS.
If you can help me out, please either leave me a message here in
this echo, by netmail to Forbidden Knights System, a email to
mkukla@ee.ryerson.ca or call me voice (416-751-1266 Mark)
Thanxs greatly in advance.
Mark
