Your defense of Thomas has extended past these two and once again you 
overlook that fact that Martinez CAN play defense but the team wants him at 
DH to reduce his chance of injury (Which is what happened to him last year 
when he did take a turn on the field).

They STILL had a roster full of first basemen and DHs.
