I don't know if you have to graft roses or not. Here in Florida
it's recommended that we only grow grafted roses mainly because
of the problem we have with nematodes. The 2 rootstocks
recommended for here are Dr. Huey and Rosa Fortunia (not sure on
that spelling). So perhaps there are rootstocks also recommended
for your area. It might be a good idea to check with a local
nurseryman and see what they recommend.
