Hi Ruth,
RH> > RH> I refer to my area as Jamaica North sometimes. There are tons
RH> of > RH> Jamaican immigrants here.
There was a Jamaican food truck at the (local) Friday Night on White
event this past Friday. Steve brought home some chicken, rice and a
plantain (he'd had the other ones) and yes, there was a good bit of heat
to everything.
RH> > And all probably glad they were there, instead of Jamaica, last
RH> week. > True, the hurricane pretty much spared that island, but there
RH> was enough wind and rain in the area that they probably got a fair
amount.
RH> My snowbird friends were glad to be up here too instead of Florida.
And we were glad we were far enough inland to just get a couple of
inches of rain, some wind.
RH> > RH> I'm not a mayo fan under any circumstances, but will use hummus
RH> > RH> instead.
RH> > I'd rather have the mayo in some things, it's more of a neutral
RH> flavor.
RH> Exactly. Sandwiches are often bland, at least to me.
Depends on what goes into it.(G) Got some 4 pepper turkey lunch meat
recently--just the edge is coated with the pepper mix but there's a good
bit of zip to the meat because of it.
