RG>I'll accept your apology only if you promise to never do it again. (at RG>least not in the CBM echos). Ok, I promise! Daddy will you forgive me now? For the record the main thing I use my messy-dos machine for is Comms. I often use it to upload/dload 64 stuff simply because zmodem on it is much faster than ymodem etc on my 64. then later on i transfer them across.. RG>Sh*t, you really are serious aren't you ! RG>Methinks this is another good time to plug my "creation". :-) .... ... RG>Now are you seriously going to tell me that you've never heard of this RG>program ? I'm the author :-) Hey, now occasionally I miss things, and often I'm just plain ignorant of whats under my nose, BUT I'm not stupid!! I thought everyone in the world knew you were the author! What I meant was, what -else- do you do with your programming ability? Damn it, how missing one word can make so much difference (: RG>Both of the above, but the crunch came when I lost my job. I didn't RG>think I'd be able to afford to maintain the dedicated phone line, and RG>of the 150 users I had there was only about 3 of them that even offered RG>to help out. I got a bit dishearthened about this 'cos if they couldn't RG>be bothered to help themselves then I didn't see why I should either. Yeah, the dollar sign is usually the crunch with operating a full time bbs. Funny how most bbs users would rather not ring than pay a measly sum of money for the bbs.. RG>The most depressing part about it is that I *know* there are a lot of RG>CBMers over here with modems but when I pulled the plug on Thistle Dome RG>they just dissappeared into the woodwork again. And you pay STD rates every few days to ring WOW. Well noone could ever say you aren't dedicated (: cya, Strobe/Menace --- Ezycom V1.05 00f90038* Origin: WOW BBS - Commodore Suport, Sydney's West (3:713/888) SEEN-BY: 50/99 54/54 640/316 711/807 808 809 934 712/623 713/317 700 805 888 @PATH: 713/888 54/54 711/808 809 |
