i can back this up 1000000000%... i can get X2 and now v90 calls all over the 
US but the local lines in my area just barely support ISDN... i live just 
over 15 miles (yep!) from my central office... X2 and v90 work great on LD... 
after i flashed both my couriers to v90, i tested by calling USR BBS and bob 
juge's bbs... got something like 46333 with you and i'm thinking 50someodd 
with bob's place... one thing that is really funny is i connect to bob's 
place over the internet and suffer the lower speeds in trade for the lower 
cost
