Hi Michael,
GE>it, I do not know.
M> Well, I'd say Floyd got less and less progressive as time went on, and

Hmm, well I might agree with this statement and I might not. The
1968-1971 Pink Floyd were most certainly Progressive. Songs like:
Careful With That Axe Eugene, A Saucerful Of Secrets, One Of These Days,
Echoes, Atom Heart Mother, Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast, All of Ummagumma,
Jugband Blues etc.. Are all progressive....
The 1972-1975 Floyd were going in a new direction. Starting with Obscured By
Clouds through Dark Side Of The Moon and Wish You Were Here are all
progressive but not, IMHO, as much as the previous incarnation of the Floyd.
1977 and Animals is almost a punk album IMHO. It is my favorite Pink Floyd
album though! Interesting use of equipment and length of the songs and
concpt make this album progressive in my mind....
1979 and the Wall as well as 1983's The Final Cut are also very progressive.
Orchestration, theme, concept etc. make them this way... But I agree that
they were at the their progressive peak in the late 60s early 70s. Once they
hit mainstream they seemed to only have progressive undertones..... Not to
say that they weren't GREAT.....
ttyl,
