slugged 
-> him, but rather told him how uncaring and what danger he posed, well 
perhaps

Yeah, I know what you mean. But, what can you do? Most cars weigh more
than 1.5 tons. I weigh 250, but ANY car can cream me. Oh well. I've
already busted a dickhead driver in the chops for this, but, you know, I
really feel this gave a negative attitude for the local drivers. I can
see it now. Cut off a cyclist, and suffer physical damage, OR, plow
through him with your car and say,"Oops" to the trooper.
 
Just remember:Look ahead. At least, look at the licence number.
Keep the rubber side down.....
