In a message dated 06-1694, Michael Douglass said to All: MD|Proramming ethics: Is it right for use to use the OS2 or the USER INI |file for our programs crud? Personally, I don't think any program, other |than OS/2 itself, should ever write data into these critical files. This |is especially true since you can just as easily use your own PERSONAL ini I've chosen to make my own INI files, one file specific to each applications. It's easier to manage (delete it and your settings are back to defaults), easier to restore from a backup, and the performance is notably faster than having one HUGE file, particularly on storing data. And, if the OS2.INI file ends up corrupted, noone can blame one of my applications :). Less of a liability this way, too, I guess! Nick ..
