The IE in W2003 defaults to "Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration is enabled". I visited http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/downloads/updates/sp/vs6/sp5/mmenglish.aspx to download some stuff for making Visual Basic installation files. I had to DISABLE the "enhanced security configuration" (using Add/Remove Programs, Windows Components) before I could download the single file that I needed! (I already had the site in my Trusted zones - not enough.) I also find it amusing that when I have to download an executable from any web site, I have to ADD that site to my Trusted sites. I can't just say "Yes, I promise to check this download carefully before I run it!". I have to make the whole site "trusted". Who knows what a trusted site can do when I click a button on their web site? The final idiocy is that when I add a site to Trusted, the stupid IE gravely warns me that I am trusting the site for everything. I scream back "YES I KNOW YOU IDIOT - I JUST WANT THE ONE EXPLETIVE FILE!".
