Yeah Write, written by former employees of WordPerfect, is a word
processor with a twist. Instead of a stark white screen with tiny
black characters, Yeah Write uses colorful, easy-to-read tabbed
screens that resemble loose-leaf notebook paper. And instead of
starting each document with a lot of formatting decisions, Yeah
Write lets you fill in the blanks of predefined documents. You can
import and export WordPerfect 5.1 documents and use spell checking
and fonts. Upon registration, you get access to an address book,
email and faxing features, and more. The authors have rethought the
standard Windows word processor concepts and have come up with this
low- priced gem, with functionally that lies somewhere between
Windows Write and WordPerfect. Several enhancements have been added
in this update, including the ability to select multiple documents,
Internet FTP Save and Retrieve, better importing and exporting, and
unlimited address books. While Yeah Write is a shareware program,
you're welcome to use this unregistered version for as long as you
like. The 'free' edition, which contains about 70% of the features
of the licensed version, includes diary, general purpose, journal,
business letter, personal letter, memo, and notes documents. You'll
also find these features: bold, underline, and italic font support;
centering and flush right text; bullets, indents, hanging indents,
check boxes, and numbered lists; titles and headings; and spell
checking. If you're looking for a something a little different in a
word processor, Yeah Write could be right up your alley. A 32-bit
version is also available.
