Customs do not ring anyone.
At the point of entry a Commercial Entry is made (or an Entry for Home
¨Consumption).  In this entry the goods have to be clasified.  Modems have
an ¨identifying classification number.  This is entered into the customs
¨computer.

What I was stating was that AUSTEL have obtained a list of importers of
¨modems (and it seems components of modems).  They are now going around in
¨person (not phoning) and asking if the modems were AUSTEL approved, and if
¨not approved they want to make sure that they are correctly labled.

Nothing about sales tax or the other stuff you were talking about.
