JD> That was a 16 ft. I blew my budget and put a 90 Johnrude on
JD> it.. Great motor but still a bit small. I then put my present Merc.
JD> 150 on it (the boat was rated for a 120) After I finally found the
JD> right prop (small ear five blade) it ran like a top. Now before
JD> everyone cries FOUL and says I put a engine on above the CG rating..
JD> Let me explain. I found a boat like mine with a 120 on it. It would
JD> run in the high 60's with a very light load. I figured the boat was
JD> safe and stable in the 60+ range with a 120 a 150 with a HEAVY load
JD> would be ok too.. I'm 6ft3 and 290 my then partner was 180 and the
JD> boat was very stable in calm water.. In fact in calm water it handled
JD> like a dream at 70+..Now I have the same 150 on my 19ft Rebel and it's
JD> a bit small...Now I NEED a 200 EFI...I hope Santy is on the echo..
Sounds to me as if this guy is one of those Primadonna tournament
fisherman who has no respect or doesn't regard the rights of others
on the water. This is one of the primary reasons that tornament
fishing should be outlawed. These guys race around at speeds that
are way too fast, in boats that are way overpowered and have no
consideration for their fellow man who have just as much right to
the water as they do. This is my feelings on the topic.
I think that the next Game Warden that comes along should check this'
guy out and ticket him for his dangerous creation.
