ML> TW> It's on it's way. I just rembembered also that it is Upgradable to ML> TW> v.92. It presently is a v.90. But about the only difference is that ML> TW> the upload speed is a little more on the v.92 model. But a lot of ML> TW> the dial up ISP's didn't upgrade to v.92 so even if you do the ML> TW> upgrade you may not gqaion anything. ML>FWIW: v.92 is little more than "memory" in the modem that remembers the spee ML>and connection settings associated with a called number... when that number ML>called again, those speed and connection settings are used to start with... ML>this generally knocks the negotiation time down to a few seconds... if the ML>stored info doesn't get a good connect, then a total negotiation phase is ML>initiated and you get the old-style long squealing sessions... Don't know where you get yuor Information but the V.92 Speciufi9catio nand the USR web site clains INCREASED Upload speed. They pulled a little more 'black magic" and found soe additional; bandwidth i nthe4 v092 modems. The v-90 modems are capable of 31.2 kbps up load speed. The v.92 upload speed is 48 kbps. Alkso there is a way that you can set the Upload/download speeds to be Equal, approx 50.5 kpbs up/down. Very nice for those stucl with a POTS line and need to do more then the typical ammount uploading. That is a little more then JUST a quick connect feature. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ This note from El Cajon California USA* Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 123/140 500 106/2000 633/267 |
