| subject: | LOST MAIL |
Hi, Paul.
Presumably you have seen this message from Peter. Do you have any idea
WTF has gone wrong with your feed? Just as well there's someone like
Peter who gets mail from 2 feeds who can detect a total failure of the
mail system.
I'm inclined to resend all my mail in all echoes from the 7th onwards.
What do you think?
Regards, FIM.

NP> Hi All
NP> This message is just to inform you of a serious breakdown in mail
NP> transmission.
NP> It would appear that 3:711/934 has been disconnected from the normal mail
NP> route
NP> for AVTECH. This means that mail posted after the dates shown below, to
NP> persons pointing from that board, has NOT been received by those people.
NP> They are as follows......
NP> Rod Speed
NP> Bob Lawrence
NP> Frank Malcom
NP> Dieter Mirbach
NP> Brenton Vettoretti
NP> Paul Edwards
NP> Jeff Green
NP> Keith Richardson
NP> David Begley
NP> Roy McNeill
NP> This has breakdown appeared as follows
NP> All SA (800), Tas (670), VIC (635&639) from the 7th April on.
NP> NSW NET 712 623 from the 8th April on
NP> QLD NET 640 from the 6th April on
NP> All mail between the nets listed appears to be being received by each
NP> other,
NP> but I will be checking the QLD end as far back as I am able.
NP> I will be posting a message on 3:711/934 advising them of this message, and
NP> the
NP> dates when THEIR mail stopped being received by others.
NP> Once a connection has been re established I will advise you, so that you
NP> may
NP> resend any mail that you consider needs to be resent.
NP> All the above NETS are fed from 711/808 but 711/934 is fed from 711/809.
NP> Whether this is relavent to the problem or not I will leave to other sysop
NP> to
NP> decide.
NP> I have a complete log of all messages for each individual Avtech
NP> participant
NP> from the 1st April onwards, showing which messages were received in Hobart
NP> and
NP> at 711/934. I am now taking steps to expand that to include what was
NP> received
NP> at the Brisbane end of the line.
NP> Should anyone NOT have copies of messages that have been lost I COULD (with
NP> the
NP> approprite authority) post the whole lot (now 180) onto 711/934 and also
NP> post
NP> all 711/934 AVTECH messages that were not received by the rest of us,(now
NP> 282)
NP> into the AVT chain at the Hobart end or any other node willing to receive
NP> them.
NP> They would then of course be distributed on the section of the mail path
NP> that
NP> appears to be still working.
NP> I await advice from any sysop as to the advisability or not of this
NP> procedure.
NP> One hopes that "normal" service will return soon. :-)
NP> Advice welcome
NP> Kind Regards

NP> Please advise as to whether a crosspost to 711/934 of the mail you have not
