Wanna bet? We may or may not be saying "Todd WHO?," but where on earth do
you get the idea that Dye will be an annual all-star? He does nothing
particularly well. He has absolutely no patience at the plate, does not have
a clue about the strike zone, has a poor OBP and is mediocre at both hitting
for average and hitting for power. He's a pretty good outfielder, but
certainly not good enough to make him an all-star with his mediocre offensive
skills. Dye is a good 4th OF, and I'll be surprised if he's ever better than
that.

Nomo actually had a pretty good year, though not as good as his rookie year.
Still, it wouldn't matter if Jones was MVP and Nomo was waived out of MLB.
That has absolutely no relevence to LAST YEAR'S ROY voting. Nomo was
arguably the second-best overall pitcher in the NL last year, whereas Jones
had a great rookie year, but he was hardly one of the best overall players.
