| subject: | START command in 4os2! |
Hi!
I'm using Max/2 2.02 as BBS program and FrontDoor 2.31mL (DOS program) as
mailer in a front-end setup where FD 2.31mL fires up Max/2 when a human
call arrives. I'm using SIO 1.60d instead of Warp's native COM.SYS/VCOM.SYS
comm drivers as SIO allows me to exit out of a DOS session with the comm
port staying open so Max/2 can pick it up and establish communications with
the human caller.
To accomplish this I have to use a mixture of .cmd and .bat files. The
first cmd file - start-1.cmd is fired up from the startup.cmd file:
=== Cut ===
H:
CD FD
H:\FD\LINE-1.CMD
EXIT
=== Cut ===
Line-1.cmd in turn kicks off runbbs.cmd:
=== Cut ===
set task=1
set port=1
path G:\cmd;H:\max;H:\fd;%path%
sharemax com%port% runbbs
=== Cut ===
Runbbs.cmd starts FD and passes control to Max/2 when FD detects a human caller:
=== Cut ===
chcp 850
:loop
cd \fd
REM START "FD Node #1" /C /FS /DOS=FDrun.Opt /WAIT /PGM FDrun.BAT
%task% %port%
FDrun.BAT %task% %port% <--This session I want custom DOS settings for!
[snip]
:exit
del k:\semaphor\exit.%task%
=== Cut ===
As you can see, FDrun.BAT starts a implicit DOS fullscreen session which
uses default DOS settings. But I *don't* want the implicit DOS settings for
my FrontDoor session: I want to customize the settings, and as you can see,
I have tried starting FrontDoor with the 4os2 START command which can be
used to supply customized to a DOS session.
The problem is that the 4os2.Inf file *don't* describe HOW the DOS settings
file should be correctly formatted so the START command starts the DOS
session with the desired settings.
Is there anybody in this conference that has any experience with this and
can post an example DOS settings file that works with the 4OS2 START
command?
