ADULT DINGY TRAINING
The guiding principle for adult courses is for the student to do most
of the
theory on their own time and to spend as much time as possible on the
water. Al
students are given the CYA handbook and the instructor will answer any
of your
questions. Adult courses are also suitable
for those youths in the 15-18 age group who have not had previous
formal
training. A maximum of 14 students are allowed per Serial, and will be
divided
into two courses. Evening courses are taught on Lasers, or Laser II and
are run
on four Tuesday and Thursday evenings between 18:00 and 21:00, or on
two
weekends from 09:00 to 16:00. At the end of a course, students usually
obtain
White Sail 1 or 2, and are capable of sailing in a single handed dinghy
on all
points of sail in winds up to 15 kph. Advanced courses are also
available in
Lasers and Laser II's.
