Alan Rackmill Sent a Sub-Space message to Mike Roberts Concerning:
Dog Eating Not!.....
AR> Actually, he might be grieving for the lab.
AR> Do you have any other dogs?
AR> Maybe he needs a new 4 footed friend?
This is possible Alan, He was not a big eater when she was here, but
definitely less since she is gone. When I lost my last Newf, I
definitely saw the Lab grieve. She actually turned Grey at age 4, within
2 weeks after we put him to sleep. She grew up real fast. One day a
playful young dog in her prime, 2 weeks later an old lady. I don't know
what their life spans are, but she only lasted a bout 2 years after He
went. She never was the same, and her body suffered from her mental loss
( this is just my belief, but to see her age so fast was amazing)
We have a 10 week old puppy in the house now, but it hasn't affected Bam
Bams eating habits as of yet. He'll only eat what he likes, when he
likes, and He isn't getting a lot of people food anymore.
AR> But the interaction between them eventually brought them back to
AR> normal.
I am actually surprised this big guy is so gentle with the little pup.
He'd a made a good father . It is funny, if you catch the little
guy in the act of a piddle and run over to grab him (quickly of course
to get him out ) Bam Bam gets a little nervous, like you're going to
hurt the little guy or something. The size difference is what scares me.
a 4 pound pup and 135 newf frolicking does a number n my nerves, but you
can't keep em separate forever.
