No Moody BLues? Now I'm totally confused! I agree that "Go Now" was
nothing but third rate British Invasion stuff, and that their later
albums (from Question of Balance on) were not even Proggish. But how can
anyone say that the songs on "Days of Future Passed" or "On the
Threshold of a Dream" don't meet the Prog-Rock criteria regarding tempo
changes, classical influences, chord structures, et. aux.?
Also, another thing confuses me.
If Genesis is Prog-Rock, and Phil Collins was part of Genesis, then
Phil Collins is also Prog-Rock. Phil Collins covered "You Can't Hurry
Love", which was originally by the Supremes. So if Phil Collins is
Prog-Rock, then that song is also Prog-Rock, and if that song is
Prog-Rock, then the original performers of the song would therefore be
Prog-Rock. In other words, the Supremes are Prog-Rock.
And that is strange, because The Supremes never sounded the least bit
Proggish.
That logic makes no sense to me.
