Mostly because of the extra boot media to get into the bios in the first
place but also there isn't much that can be done in the bios once you
bothered to get there.  At least the HP's give you some extra control but I
don't like them since a proper extra boot disk, usually if not always
floppies.  Too much that can and does go wrong with that strategy.

[aside to Tom]:  I've said this all before ... for years and years I've
been saying it.  I consider the above extremely redundant.  ;-)
