CRUISING PROGRAM
Enjoy the freedom of sailing a yacht in safety under the direction of a
CYA
certified Cruising instructor. Our program offers a wide range of
sailing
activities. Introduction to sailing gets you out on the water and lets
you
determine how much you enjoy sailing. Basic Cruising and Intermediate
Cruising
courses teach the skills which allow you to operate a sailboat with
confidence
and prepare you to pass either examination needed for CYA
certification.
Experienced sailors may wish to Challenge the Basic or Intermediate
examinations. Sailing on your own boat will enhance your sailing
skills,
confidence and enjoyment of this great sport. Youth Cruising is
available for
those over 13 and have White Sail 3. Course material is supplied when
you
register. Classes consist of 2 to 4 students.
BASIC CRUISING FORMATS
Monday - Thursday  09:00 - 16:00 daily
Saturday, Sunday     09:00 - 16:00/2wknds.
Monday, Wednesday   17:30 - 21:00/4 wks.
Tuesday, Thursday  17:30 - 21:00/4 wks
INTERMEDIATE Full weekend and 2 evenings

COURSE TIMES
All youth courses run from 09:00 to 16:00. Students may be dropped off
after
08:30 and must be picked up by 16:15 hours daily. For an additional fee
of $18
per week, students on White Sail 1,2 and 3 can participate in our after
Sail
program of activities and games, which runs from 16:15 to 18:00, Monday
through Friday.
HOW TO ENROLL
Registrations can be mailed, with checks made payable to the Nepean
Sailing
Club, or brought to the club house weekdays from 13:00 to 22:00, or on
weekends
from 09:00 to 22:00. However, if you want to speak to someone to
discuss what
course may best suit you or your family, come to the club house on
Thursday
evenings from 19:00 to 22:00, starting 4 April. The club reserves the
right to
cancel or combine certain courses if there is insufficient enrollment.
All
courses are booked on first come first served basis and applications
will only
be accepted upon full payment of fees. Post dated check are not
accepted.
Refunds will only be given for cancellations received prior to one week
before
course start dates and are subject to a $25.00 administration fee.
Mastercard
and VISA accepted.
MEMBERSHIP
All courses are open to the public. Students who enroll in courses 24
hours or
longer are entitled to Social Membership Privileges for the balance of
the year
that is access to the clubhouse facility.
BOATS
Boats and Life Jackets are provided for all courses.
SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY
All participants must be able to swim 50 meters with a life jacket and
tread
water. NSC reserves the right to expel without refund, any student who
endanger
the lives of others or who becomes a discipline problem.
INTRODUCTION TO SAIL
These Saturday/Sunday, one or two day courses run from 09:00 to 16:00
for group
from 6-12 persons by appointment only, minimum one week in advance.
Excellent
for Guides, Scouts or office extra-curricular activities.
$30 per person for 2 days
$20 per person for 1 day
INTRO TO KEELBOAT RACING FOR SKIPPERS & CREW
A one day course from 09:00 to 17:00 hours. Course includes classroom
training
and a mini race on the water in club members boats. Bring wet weather
gear and
your lunch. Coffee and doughnuts provided. Non-members who join this
year will
have $25.00 towards membership.

WINDSURF & SAIL COMBO
These one week courses will run Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 16:00. There
will be
a maximum of 8 students per course, and each student will have
nominally 6 hour
per day on the water, 3 on sailboards and 3 on a Petrol (a 2-3 person
boat).
These courses are suitable for ages 13-18, depending on size and
strength, and
for those students with White Sail 3 who want more time on the water
before
attempting Bronze Sail.
