subject: Delays

BL> Hi Paul,
BL> gee.... what'd you do this time?

Stopped using BTPE!

BL> I was just getting used to the new short delay in acknowledging my
BL> 'hello' and you've added an even longer one! It still works, though.

However, now that the new Binkley has added a "nofilter" option, and
I have applied that, it is now quite fast, something like 1.5 seconds
of negotiation. Let me know what you think of it now. I think it is
acceptable, and I probably won't mess with that code.

Actually, I think the random delays you have had in the past are due
to the modem taking a long time to deliver your yoohoo.

BFN. Paul.

P.S. Actually, I think I know what was doing it. Me changing between
\V1 and \V6 on my modem. I've had a look at some logs, and you can see
the difference straight away between when I had \V6, and it prints about
5 lines of messages before the connect string, and \V1, where there is
only the connect string. Probably whilst it is printing the 5 lines of
stuff, your character gets lost. I had to swap between the two for
various reasons.
